    Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 - Mk1, Mk2 & Mk3 Owners Thread

curiously I only seem to have one from the station (and in the gallery) and I'm not even sure I recognise this shot despite having been there 3 years ago. I mean it's not exactly a big place.... Probably just the lighting.

    Nikon Z* mirrorless

this sort of weather actually works quite well for the shot. Not sure if any of my (relatively limited number of) Glencoe shots, mainly shot in fine weather, have as much atmosphere. Composition is just about perfect, too.

    ON1 Photoraw 2026 any opinions?

it only seems to appear the first time you run the update or try out a feature for the first time do you get the tips which seems like a sensible way to do it.

    ON1 Photoraw 2026 any opinions?

Interesting. This is the first ON1 release I've tried out which is actually reasonably (not completely, but only certain operations annoy it) stable and works at a generally decent speed except when it has to reload AI processing data. I find the range of features and general processing quality...

    ON1 Photoraw 2026 any opinions?

regarding the blue/purple fringing at screen view issue, this is now a thing of the past as I upgraded to a 32" 4k monitor which eliminates it (except for a tiny number of portrait format 24mp photos). The increase in general sharpness is remarkable -- it makes even LR suddenly look good...

    ON1 Photoraw 2026 any opinions?

I agree -- and suspect this may be a reason why some are quickly put off by ON1. Some of the develop settings are not particularly well calibrated -- tending to affect a greater tonal range than they strictly should (the shadows slider is one such example). The Effects Tone Enhancer for...

    ON1 Photoraw 2026 any opinions?

I have LR/PS until April so still plenty of time to see if i want to permanently adapt to a new workflow or simply use ON1/Luminar as options for certain photos. Both were very inexpensive (Luminar equivalent of £39) for what they can do.

    ON1 Photoraw 2026 any opinions?

the workflow is quite different from Lightroom. The main thing is you really need to use the Effects filters, rather than just relying on the Develop tab as you might elsewhere. I find using certain filters such as Dynamic Contrast, Sharpening and Sunshine -- all of which can be scaled back to...

    ON1 Photoraw 2026 any opinions?

In the end I did decide to go for it --- I paid €58 which is slightly more than your discount code (€52.50) but still pretty cheap. At that price, even if i don't decide to go with it long term, I should have plenty of fun. My main issue at the moment is actually that instead of viewing...

    ON1 Photoraw 2026 any opinions?

DxO has always been quite good on detail but I've never much taken to the package as a whole. And when trying to install the latest version, I got a seemingly infamous error "Installation failed when downloading DeepPrime XD X-Trans models" to which there was no obvious solution. So quickly gave up.

    ON1 Photoraw 2026 any opinions?

Andy's video was one of the first I saw but it's so ignorant about certain features (seemingly unaware of other ways to set shadows or Brilliance AI default settings for instance) it's hard to take seriously despite the undoubted entertainment value. It's true that it can be quite hard to find a...

    ON1 Photoraw 2026 any opinions?

Of all the post processing software packages, I have been the most schizophrenic about ON1 Photoraw. Every couple of years or so, I test it out and indeed the best part of a decade ago actually bought but returned for a refund as I was having so many issues with the various bugs. In theory it...

Do DSLR's still have a place

I thought I was done with DSLR's but in fact I enjoy using my Nikon Df which i got second hand relatively recently, at least as much as my Zf. One huge advantage is the fact you can pan around looking for shots through a nice clear OVF without using any battery power. And the manual lenses just...

    Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 - Mk1, Mk2 & Mk3 Owners Thread

to be honest, most of the things I've actually printed are from earlier (usually not FF) cameras and most of these prints are fine! Still, there were times when I felt frustrated such as the trip to Iceland when the Fuji didn't always have the dynamic range or the rendering seemed rather...

    Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 - Mk1, Mk2 & Mk3 Owners Thread

well the OM3 does seem like a good camera -- and quite a handsome one as well. The EVF seems to be the weakest point. Still, I'm vaguely curious why you didn't consider a return to Fuji? Was it a matter of absolutely minimising weight? The OM3 seems faster than Fuji but you're not generally one...
