I was also comparing the M2 to the M1 and it looks like if you need the flip screen or a hotshoe then go for the M2. I am going to see if I can get my hands on the M1 and sell my G11. I used this camera briefly and its a joy.
One friend has the 35mm and he is loving it on his 7D. He also had the problem with the 50mm being to long for him. He is very happy with the 35mm. Also its an investment as you can use it on a fullframe if you upgrade later
Have a look at this, this will allow you to get in nice and close on any of your lenses. I also have the Canon 100mm non L macro lens but I cannot get right in to fill the frame. I am going to invest in this tubes...

I had this on my 50mm 1.4.. out the box it came with a spot of dust. I did testing with both ends of the f-stop range and could not pick it up. So I kept it. Its not great and if I where you get it sorted out as when it comes to selling it you might get some issue
