    35mm Developing Issue

I’ve asked the lab for some feedback. I won’t name and shame, anyone can make a mistake.......it’s how they deal with it that counts.

    35mm Developing Issue

I could accept a light leak if it was along the bottom or up one side, but some of the exposures have two rows of sprocket holes overlaid at different angles.

    35mm Developing Issue

New film, developed by a lab, Leica M6. I have put about 10 rolls through this camera without any problems.

    35mm Developing Issue

Looking for advice on whether this is a developing issue, or a camera issue. All from the same role of Portra 400, all the photos had ghosting, about 25% had sprocket holes across the frame. Any ideas?

lens for portrait with Canon 50d

Surely an 85mm is too long for portraiture on a crop sensor. What about a 50mm, and perhaps a 430mkii and a yongnu remote and trigger?

    iMac Query

I have a 2009 c2d iMac. It will run photoshop, Lightroom, iPhoto and iTunes all at the same time with no problems. It may hang a little when doing a surface blur, but generally it fine. An i5 would just fly. Go for it, you won't regret it.

    What's your fabourite lens?

Got to be my 135 F2, always makes me smile reviewing the pictures. However the 24-70 L gets the most use due to its versatility.

Where to go from a 550D?

That shot of the chap on the deck of the boat is top drawer. It looks like you can get good results from your setup despite your lack of confidence. As a progression from the 550, I would consider keeping your 17-55 and getting a used 7d. That would be a very good setup.

1 camera, 1 lens, £1000 - What would you get?

OK I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest a 2nd hand 7d and a second hand ef85 1.8. My reasoning is that you seem to like sports photography and appart fom a 1d, which is clearly out of you budget, the 7d is the next best thing for sports. The 85 1.8, well it's cheep and within your...

    Fast+wide dilemma

Bearing in mind your 60d is a crop sensor, I think your best bet is a Canon 10-22 and a cheap tripod. If your taking night shots (of the aurora) even an f/1.2 is not going to be fast enough to hand hold, also noise will be a big issue, so low iso will be required. The 10-22 is a great lens...

    24mm F/1.4 v 17-40mm F4

On FF Bob, I've not updated my profile. I had read a few reviews that implied the 24L was a bit soft at the edges due to having to cope with the big apertures. The 17-40L I have is super sharp out to the edges, but clearly from f4 up.

    24mm F/1.4 v 17-40mm F4

As the subject title. I have the 17-40L but dont really use it at the wide end and would probably benefit more from the large aperture of the 24L. So will I lose corner sharpness with the 24L against the 17-40L at similar apertures? Thanks in anticipation.
