    Simply Electronics? Sigma 10-20?

Don't do it! I ordered exactly the same lens - well, maybe not, a nikon fit - they said they had 10 in stock but I didn't hear anything from them for a week. When I got in touch they were very sketchy so eventually I cancelled with them. I got mine from onestop digital, who were AMAZING! for a...

    Braemar .... in winter?

Ballatar is just up the road from Braemar and its a lovely wee place - busier and with a better selection of pubs by the looks of things.

    Braemar .... in winter?

I was camping there in July, very nice it was too - except the midges. You can camp anywhere in the braemar estate, which is beautiful. I would post some pics but I don't have access to them right now. Braemar is pretty poor for pubs actually, I was looking for some great old-man pubs but...

Ditto. I'm not that bothered about the issue to get into a Mac/pc debate. You've got pcs to work for you but seem to have had to become an expert on them to get there - you've already boasted about your pcs that 'no one has even heard of'. Well done. I don't have the time or the inclination...

No need, I changed my os and now I don't need to bother with any of that nonsense. Msconfig wasn't used to combat something av software would resolve. Any bit of legitimate software I would install would end up fighting against other bits of software as to what opened certain files and what...

Actually I bought a Dell laptop for £850 in 2004, my Mac was £800 in 2007. But agreed - pcs are much cheaper. I don't know about absolving windows of responsibility for the problems with software available for pcs. Can you say the reverse is true for apple? Its not anything to do with apple...

I bought an iMac 3 years ago and it works every bit as well as it did then. I've owned several pcs, and still do, and they all virtually have to be held to gather with string and started with a crank shaft after 3 years ownership. I could regale you with stories of frustration involving pcs but...

    Kit needed for using filters

Thanks Jim. I think I will opt for the cheaper filter holder.

    Kit needed for using filters

Hi everyone, I'm new. It's very nice. I have a new lens arriving soon (sigma 10-20mm) and I'd like to get set up using filters with it. As I understand, it's probably most sensible to go down the route of using a filter holder and then slide in filters as opposed to buying screw in filters...

    Aperture for apple macbook pro

Noob, first post, hello etc. I use Aperture and I like it. It was a natural progression from iPhoto for me. I tried lightroom and didn't get on with it. I missed some of the brushes that Aperture has. I guess it's a case of whatever you're used to?
