    Shutter shock/af accuracy questions

Looking to buy a budget but high quality interchangeable lens camera system for landscapes, travel and general photography. Wanting something small, and thought of Nikon 3xxx/5xxx series. I'm thinking that the 24mp sensor in the Nikons will be hard to beat, also dx zoooms can be picked up very...

Beginner Can I use Adobe Bridge without Creative Cload bloatware?

I'm wanting to use a simple image importer/mover/viewer app on my Mac. Like the idea of Adobe Bridge which is free, but with strings attached. Namely that I can't use it without Creative Cloud bloatware and internet access. I don't want to use Adobe Cloud services and am unhappy about Adobe...

    6D faulty LCD repair

Agreed, Canon don't have a great record when it comes to ribbon cables! Suspect that it's not a DIY repair and will have to buy a complete replacement unit.

    6D faulty LCD repair

Same as I've found, been in touch with both eBay sellers and they are still in business and posting. The Italian seller tells me very honestly that his is not in stock and he will need to get it from China first in order to fulfil my order, with 6 weeks time lag. The Chinese seller also takes 6...

    6D faulty LCD repair

Sounds great, £50 and I'm sorted, like that! Only problem, where to buy at that price - China? Ebay UK sourced prices considerably more. Can you post a link to your prices. Thanks H

    6D faulty LCD repair

Hi Guys Slight update on this. My mini HDMI to HDMI lead came today and I was able to try it out with the 6D. I was able to get a Menu display on my monitor and change settings using buttons on the camera body. Can also confirm that Info, Q etc buttons produced appropriate displays on the...

    6D faulty LCD repair

Wow, never thought of that! Have got a Live View output via USB port to laptop using EOS utility, presumably what I'm seeing is output directly off the sensor and not from LCD module? If I connect a mini HDMI lead to the HDMI port I should get an output on TV showing Menu etc if LCD driver...

    6D faulty LCD repair

Hi, not sure if this is the right forum to post in...anyway here goes. I''ve just aquired a Canon 6D in great condition and functional to the point that I can take (nice!) pictures with it. HOWEVER, the rear LCD screen is blank and displays no info. The top LCD is fully functional and using...

Canon DPP and (new to me) EF 16-45mm f4

Yes, but I'm only curious as DPP is not reporting a value in the distance field for the 16/35, but a distance value is quoted for all my other lens. Wondering why? The lens is switched to AF, obviously no distance would be given if left on MF. H

Canon DPP and (new to me) EF 16-45mm f4

Totally agree with you, it's either in focus or not, no need for a DPP focus distance estimate! BUT having just bought it wondered if the non-reporting by DPP meant something that wasn't quite 100% right with it, as all my other lenses were posting values in the distance field. Hence asking...

Canon DPP and (new to me) EF 16-45mm f4

Thanks Guys As far as I can see the body has CA & Vignetting profiles for the 16/35mm loaded onto the body as I can switch them on or off. Will have a look with EOS utility to see if I can add any more lens data to the body tomorrow. I tend to agree with toohuge, distance data should be...

Canon DPP and (new to me) EF 16-45mm f4

Hi Just bought a used Canon 16/35mm f4 from a UK main dealer, so comes with warranty and a short return period. Bought to replace a 17/40mm with poorish edges at UW. New lens only just arrived so still approx a fortnight to test out thoroughly. I use Canon DPP 4 on a Mac and am slightly...
