    Pistonheads / LAT Studio Session

Hello All, While reading the Pistonheads site I saw that they're doing a car photography session at the LAT studio in a couple week's time. I'd love to do something like this myself, but I'm not free that weekend . From reading the comments on the story it looks like they'll be doing...

    Nikon AF-S VR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF ED

I absolutely love mine. I've had it a little over the year and it's hardly been off my camera. It's best below 200mm, but 200-300 it's just fine. I don't know what sort of photography you do, but I find mine fine for motorsport. Take a look at my site (below), it will give you an idea of what...

    Motorsport lens question.

I'm a Nikon man, but I've used my mates 70-200 f4 (non-IS), and found it to be a brilliant lens. On his 50d it's very well balanced and it takes some lovely pictures. I have a 70-300VR, and find that I hardly ever use the VR function, particularly when I'm at a motorsports event. Most of the...

    Gloves for Togs

I use a pair of Sealskinz gloves. They're thin enough to be able to use all the buttons on the camera yet thick enough to keep my hands warm. The bonus is they're waterproof which was really handy this past week at Rally GB!

    New camera for motorsports

This is my main concern with going the Nikon route, as I imagine the semi-pro lenses are as far as I'd go. Having said that I only do this as a hobby so I'm not looking to blow tons of money chasing incremental differences in picture quality (at least to my eye).

    New camera for motorsports

Well I like the quality of the shots I'm getting, but I do feel like I miss quite a lot due to the slow AF. And if you don't believe that, I'd like a shiny new camera :)

    New camera for motorsports

Using one at the moment. I think it's fantastic, although probably not in the same league as the 2.8's  Thanks again everyone for the advice :)

    New camera for motorsports

Thanks for the tips. I've narrowed it down to the D90 and D300 so I'll go to the shops and have a play with both. In terms of the lenses I was hoping to try out the Sigma 70-200 and/or 100-300, anything beyond those is getting too expensive, at least at this stage in life. Cheers, Mark

    Wales Rally GB 2009

I went for the first time last year and spent Saturday on Halfway. It has a nice variety of places to shoot from and if you get bored you can always play with the tank! I'm planning on getting a three-day pass this year, can't wait.

D300 Memory Card Slot Problem :-(((

I can't really add much to what's already been said, but I hope you get this sorted to your satisfaction. I've been in similar situations before and sometimes you feel helpless, you just have to stand your ground and know your rights and facts (as TG said, above). I suppose the key is not to...

Shopping for glass in New York

Have to agree, B&H is fantastic. Adorama is also worth a look.

    New camera for motorsports

Sorry  I think I'd better start saving my pennies and keep an eye out for a used D300 :)

    New camera for motorsports

I consider myself to be a serious amateur, and whilst I only started going to events a year ago, I've been to about 25 races & rallies in that time. I'm stuck behind the fences and I doubt I'll be getting to the other side anytime soon, so I honestly think a pro body is overkill, both from...
