Street photography - 35mm or nifty fifty

As said above, 23 or 35 are fine and are what I use. Very rarely, when I'm doing more arty stuff and I want to compress space I'll go longer

Some okay stuff in there. Nice link, thanks

Why do photographers keep asking me this question?

In many cases, the camera is much less relevant than the artist taking the shot. But there are a fair few cases where a better or more appropriate camera makes a big difference. I need a lightning fast system for shooting on the streets so I use mft. If I were waiting for a compact to lock and...

Quality of Photos for Critique gone downhill??

Who cares what it scores on Flickr or 500px? Seriously. You don't actually think that makes it automatically a great image do you? The only one I could find was an old account with a few snaps from years ago. I'll check Flickr later.

Quality of Photos for Critique gone downhill??

Hahaha. Obviously, in the real world, a photo is only a good photo if it gets a million likes or gets popular on 500px. It's a social media exercise to gets faves likes and popular status. Get enough followers and the rest is easy.

Quality of Photos for Critique gone downhill??

Matt, I've Gotta say I'm starting to agree with the others who have suggested you should probably post a link to your own work.

Quality of Photos for Critique gone downhill??

Excellent post. Salient, relevant and highlights a lot of what some are missing here. A portrait photographer or landscape photographer for example shouldn't simply assume that any self believed skill they have in their genre can be transferred to macro for example. And even then, the majority...

    Which lenses to take?

Oops sorry I though the 7 was full frame too.

    Which lenses to take?

I'd say 24mm on full frame is pretty wide. And if not, the 17-55 would easily do for landscapes. It would also do nicely for street stuff etc

    Street Photography - Beginners "Guide"

Really need to sort mine out as there's too much in it. Tried to sort it out into a more selective album but changed my mind since then and need to go through it again... https://www.flickr.com/photos/46180527@N03/sets/72157635109114117/

    Street Photography - Beginners "Guide"

Dan, who cares what people think is real street or not? Who gives them the right to define it anymore than you? You're taking shots of people on the street with a camera. There are numerous groups run by so called street experts who are ultra elitist and snobby when it comes to the genre. And...

    Street Photography - Beginners "Guide"

Who cares how we shoot a shot? There's no right and wrong as certain techniques won't apply to everyone. Just try them all and go with what works. I've done everything from shooting from the hip to lifting the camera to my eye and they all work but in different ways. I think you just should post...
