Suj, I had the same problem with my 40D a couple of weeks ago, was using a 70-200 F4 L, I cleaned the contacts of the lens and its been fine ever since, give that a try and hopefully it will resolve the problem, if not then I dont know :thinking: HTH Russ.

From speaking to my mate he was happy with the bloke he bought the lens off, he's run the serial number through the local cops and it's come up clean - got himself a real bargain......I'm soooo jealous......

Speaking to a mate at work this morning, he went to a flea market in Burnley yesterday just as everyone was packing up, see's a guy putting a white lens in a box, turns out to be a 70-200 f2.8 IS, a little battered but appears to be sound, asks the guy how much, give us £20 comes the reply...

If it helps, I upgraded from a 450D to a 40D a couple of months ago. The "feel" of the 40D is so much better than the 450D - in fact I cant think of anything negative to say about it - go for the 40D - you wont be dissapointed. Russ.
