I am no expert by a million miles, but if you look on here (recent thread in portrait IIRC) there is a single light thread, and many professionals get fantastic results with a single light and a reflector.

I cannot compare the two choiced you have, but I recently bought a 50mm 1.4 second hand and have been hit by the apparantly very common auto focus problems!

I'm literaly in exactly the same boat right now! Shooting with a 400d, have been for YEARS! But eyeing up a 7D, not sure how much of a risk a second hand purchase would be though.

I do like that, the only thing I would say (Which could work in your favour) is that there is so much going on at once in places that you have to watch it over a few times to fully appreciate the work that has gone into it. I don my hat to you sir, impressive work!

You could get a similar effect with a strong warming photo filter, you'd be surprised how much difference it makes.
