The xf1 is a great lil camera. My 11 year old daughter got one last Christmas. Her pictures are so much better now compared to the iPad she was using and it's made her think more about her photography.
I would go for the 35 & 60. Mainly because of the 35. Which will give you a bit more room to play with if shooting indoors and your son is as active as my kids. I tried out the 60 recently in a shop mainly looking at the macro. Nice sharp lens but a pain to focus both manually and auto in the...
On the 23 you can set manual focus via the push pull focus ring of the lens as well as on the body. If it is set to manual focus this way it disables the auto focus settings in the camera including adjusting and sizing the points. Haven't got the camera with me but I think it's push to auto and...
The extension tubes sound ok. I was initially put off them because of the reviews of the fotga versions. Have you got a link for forest. The only one I can find is an an image processing in walthamstow.
Thanks Blank_Canvas & Nod. Shame about the hunting on the 60mm. Was kinda hoping it might have been better on an x-t1, thought about adding a raynox 250 to try and get close to 1:1. The zeiss is twice as expensive which is a bit off putting. Might look into the tamron a bit more. Works out about...
Nice pic. How do you find the zeiss at 1:1. Read some where that to get 1:1 on the zeiss your almost touching the subject with the lens. Not so great for insects. Currently looking at buying either the fuji 60 zeiss 50 or possibly a tamron 90.
@Nod there's an extra pin on the hotshoe of the xt to enable the supplied flash to draw power from the camera. What is the 60mm like on the xt. I wanted to try my hand at macro but was put off because the 60 is not 1:1.
