if your looking for a good book on HTML, XHTML and CSS then i recomend "Head First HTML with CSS & XHTML" its an excellent book that will ake you through everything from starting out to validating your code, its what i used to get me through my first year of university.

check on your router that there is no reserved IP adresses and also check there is no bandwidth allocations or and blocked MAC adresses on your router, also try unplugging the xbox and putting the ethernet cable that was in the xbox to the computer, might be a porting issue.
