    Manfrotto monopod thread

Hi folks, thanks once again to all of you who contributed to my somewhat weird question. Just to bring a closure to this, I finally bit the bullet and bought an affordable monopod with the right thread at the bottom which fits my existing base. Problem solved. Thanks again.

    Manfrotto monopod thread

Thank you for all your comments. I hope I have responded to your last request now. I think it might well come to having an adaptor made as you suggested. Depending on how much that will cost, I might end up biting the bullet and just buying a normal monopod to avoid all the hassle!

Thank you. That's what is proving to be difficult, finding a non-standard adaptor. I'll keep looking; thanks to everyone's response.

    Manfrotto monopod thread

What I want to do is to connect the monopod to this base (see photo), which has a standard 3/8" screw. Unfortunately the monopod thread is non-standard so doesn't fit. I need to find an adaptor, which may be a tall order. Please see ZX9's response which explains the situation well.

    Manfrotto monopod thread

Many thanks for your response. I've already got the feet but I'm desperately looking for an adaptor to fit it to the non-standard thread at the bottom of the tripod.

Many thanks for your response. I happen to have some of those myself but unfortunately they are not the right ones. Please see ZX9's response, which explains the situation better than I can.

    Manfrotto monopod thread

Many thanks for your reply. Yes, that's the bit I'm referring to but instead of a spike (which was supplied by Manfrotto) I was hoping to connect it to a third-party monopod feet, which as you would expect comes with a 3/4" threaded screw. Trouble is the thread on the monopod is non-standard.

    Manfrotto monopod thread

Many thanks for your reply. You will see in the photos I have now attached what exactly I am referring to. It's not a part of a tripod you normally manipulate so that's probably why it is non-standard. I may have quoted an entirely wrong measurement; I'm more of a metric guy!

    Manfrotto monopod thread

Many thanks for welcoming me to TP! To explain my question a bit more, when you unscrew this leg of the tripod, you can also unscrew the bottom rubber bit which would rest on the floor, as seen in the images attached. It's the screw thread here which is non-standard, i.e. not 3/4 inch, which...

    Manfrotto monopod thread

I wonder if I could ask about a little issue someone may be able to help. I have a Manfrotto Elements tripod with one removable leg to use as a monopod. I was hoping I could use this with a third party base but hadn't checked the thread on the bottom of the monopod before I bought the feet and...
