    What's gone wrong here?

I hope it's not a sticky shutter curtain. I don't think there's anywhere around here to get the camera serviced. It doesn't look quite straight enough to be the curtain anyway, or at least that's what I'm telling myself. Will just have to see if it happens again.

    What's gone wrong here?

Thanks Jimmy. :) Yeah, I quite liked the results too, but it'd be nice to know what happened. It'd be more satisfying if I'd done it on purpose.

    What's gone wrong here?

Yeah, I would have thought so too but I can't think what else it might be.

    What's gone wrong here?

Yeah, FP4 plus, sorry. Seems likely I just didn't take enough care when removing the roll. Though the rest of the roll seemed very tightly wound. Would it still cause problems for the entire roll? Here's a few more from the roll in case that helps. Could the black bar on the top of...

    What's gone wrong here?

Thanks Jim and Asha. I probably just messed up somewhere with some inept bumbling. I bought the camera from a good guy who I think would have told me if there was a leak anywhere in the body. Everything looks well sealed when the back is in. I'll be extra careful with the next roll and see...

    What's gone wrong here?

I loaded it in my very dimly lit living room (I put the dimmed switch on minimum) but it took me a while due to it being my first ever roll. I guess the time I spend fumbling with it could have caused the leak? Or is it likely to be the airport scanners? That particular roll probably went...

    What's gone wrong here?

Hi, I'm very new to film and was hoping someone could tell me what may have caused this photo to come out like this: The camera used was a Pentax 645 Film is Ilford FP4 The roll was taken to a local lab for processing. The rest of the frames on the roll have similar problems. Is...

OFFICIAL I HAVE A NEW (FILM RELATED) TOY THREAD!!

Gotta love those running gags. :) Nick - Yeah, I did a couple of google searches on 'best film' and realised I was probably best off experimenting as many types as I could find and picking my favourites.

OFFICIAL I HAVE A NEW (FILM RELATED) TOY THREAD!!

I've just taken the plunge into MF after several years of digital. My film experience mostly amounts to playing around with disposables and the odd 35mm point and shoot as a child. I bought a Pentax 645, 3 lenses (45, 75 and 150mm) and a 120 back for the princely sum of NZ$500 (£250). It's a...

    Used equipment???

I'd say yes. You're likely to want to upgrade bodies quite often whereas a good lens will always be a good lens. It's quite easy to pick up a decent second hand body on the forums here and spend the rest of your budget on the best glass you can afford. A 50mm 1.8 being the typical example...

    Feedback Mifsuds

I've bought several second hand lenses from Mifsuds in the past. Nothing but good things to say about them. :)

Is F2.8 really beneficial over F4?

Increasing the exposure by one stop by decreasing shutter speed means you have to double the exposure time though. 1/60, 1/30, 1/15 etc.

Is F2.8 really beneficial over F4?

Also, lenses tend be sharper slightly stopped down so a 2.8 lens stopped down to f4 is likely to be sharper than an f4 lens wide open. Oh and yes, the shutter speed will be twice as quick at f2.8 compared to f4.

    Review nikon d300s v d700 v d3s.

What about a Fuji S5 Pro? Is that a 'pro' camera? ;)

    Sigma or Tamron?

You have to judge on a lens by lens basis really. The Sigma 50mm 1.4 for example is a suberb lens. Likewise the Tamron 17-50 2.8.
