That is part of it of course, but my tutor has asked me to shoot in manual, so I think that's the best way to go

My tutor has asked me to use manual, because he wants me to learn to expose correctly. That's the point of the exersize, it doesn't really matter if the photo is interesting or creative just so long as they are correctly exposed.

Sorry for the fragmented messages, i'm figuring this out as i'm playing around with my camera at the moment. I did have exposure compensation dialled in, but i have zeroed that now.

I', using the exposure scale in my view finder, and when in aperture mode it doesn't stay at 0. When i use it in manual and zero it, the pictures are dark, grainy etc.
