    hyperfocal distance

    It's the point of focus where the maximum objects are in focus from the front of the lens to infinity. For example if I am taking a landscape shot I focus 2/3 of the way into the shot then reframe. I'm sure someone will be along shortly with a more technical answer.

    Taking camera with you.

    Once went for a walk without my camera and missed a shot of a Cuckoo chick being fed by a (i think) Meadow Pippit. It was amazing seeing this great greedy bird stood on a rock being fed by it's tiny "parent" Kicked myself all the way back home (in between being kicked by SWMBO)
