Well come christmas time i will be looking at investing into a telephoto/zoom lens.
Now i have the kit 18-105mm, so ideally want to waste as little of this as possible (so what, 70mm+ as a starting range?)
I also wonder if its possible to get one with a macro function? or is that asking...
Sounds interesting. Thanks!
I just read up a little on them. Is it true you lose auto focus and have to shoot fully in manual? I'm a newbie togger and don't really have enough experience to shoot in anything other than P or A mode atm :S
EDIT* This post may be moot once i read the links i...
Was just looking at some lenses. More specifically the f/1.8 or 1.4 50mm nikkor primes and the 70-300mm VR is a whopping 1.5m :O
Now i have enough trouble with my 18-105mm not focusing close enough at 45cm, but im gonna have even more trouble with a 50mm prime as its 45mm.
Granted, the...
Have seen many a photo with a black background e.g
I always wondered - how is this done? i've done one with a white background before which is easy enough because light hitting white isnt a problem.
How do you get perfect black background AND have plenty of light for the subject?
Thanks for the pics and all the advice! So i'm guessing i should turn sharpening back to default now and do any extra sharpening i need in cs4 :) thanks!
EDIT** For this single point focus thing, is it possible to do like the auto-area one does, and choose more than 1 focus point?
I don't use auto ISO :S i always use either Aperture Priority or P mode and set ISO manually. I don't know how to do those things either :bonk:
Up to what ISO would you say was usable on the d90?
Have you missed a word out here? It would help if you said as far as possible down or up =P
centre focus area and recompose... so what, focusing on it with centre point, then moving camera to get the composition you wanted originally?
So i finally found the settings to change sharpening, contrast, saturation etc in camera and i was hoping for some advice from d90 users.
I find that images from my d90 are a little soft. I recently shot a hundred or so pictures and out of them all 2 were kept because it was too soft. This is...
Worcestershire :)
and thanks!
Had a go at some panning with the dog today, unfortunately i was taking the photos in frame and everything, but out of focus. More practise needed.
Not sure how i would eliminate the shadows :/ It was just on a piece of paper with the sun shining down.
