For a bit of a laugh I decided to give it another fix tonight after I developed a roll of Neopan and i think its given them more contrast. When I compared it to the Neopan that I just did, it looks a lot sharper and the Neopan looks like it now has the same problem as the HP5 did so I'm going...
Wow thats a pretty crappy result.
I heard that to stop over exposure people were taping the darkslide or a changing bag over the slot the pics come out. The problem seems to be that the coating that is supposed to protect the emulsion while it is developing lets light through which ruins the...
I dont think its the Holga because I shot a roll on a Brownie and it came out exactly the same. When I compared the negs with the Rollei Retro that I developed the other day (also taken with a holga), there are no blacks and no clear bits at all, their just all very dark.
I seem to have come across another problem, this time to do with developing HP5. The negatives have been coming out very dark and grey, with no contrast what-so-ever. At first I thought I was over-developing so I cut the developing time from 8 to 6 minutes. I've got the negatives hanging up...
Looks like you were right Joxby, thanks!
I just re-fixed them and I *think* they look much better now, although its quite hard to tell with the light in my flat.
Their hanging up in the bathroom now drying so hopefully in an hour or so I can give one a quick scan to see whats what.
Lets hope it is the fixer then! Do I just try and load the cut negs back into the spiral and then agitate for 1 minute and then twice ever minute for 2 minutes (3 in total)?
Ok, I was sure I made up just over 500ml but I'm probably going to develop another one tomorrow so I'll make sure I have exactly the right amount chemicals.
Any other ideas?
