Exactly what I was going to say. I saw a 'video' once, well it was a gif of several shots taken on burst' showing a 600mm lens suffering from atmospheric distortion, so a 1700! Blimey.

That's beautiful. Haven't had a go with a 'rangefinder' myself before, simply because I don't quite know how to use one :/ I could google, but it's generally not in laymans terms. How does one focus using a rangefinder ?

Haha, I took a similar upgrade path a long while back. Sold old body and lens, but new body but had no lens to take any pictures until I could justify buying a 24-70 :( It was an annoying couple of weeks :/

Tend to agree, but only on the basis of my olllld 350D, that sounded awfully synthetic. 40D a bit more 'manly' but not as pleasant as my friends Nikon :(
