Thanks for the advice guys. Think I will leave the 50-250mm at home like you suggest.
There are no 1.4 or 2x TC's available to hire for the weekend at Lenses for Hire and anyway, I read that the focal length would become 98-280mm with the 1.4, so would probably just take the 55-250mm if that...
Am off to Silverstone this weekend armed with my 7d and 70-200L F4.
I went last year (was in the GrandStands {mostly Copse} and had my 450d and 70-200L F4 lens).
Obviously the closer I can get to the cars the better so I don't lose image quality when cropping later.
I have limited bag...
Nice upgrade. Like Digitalize, I also moved from a 450D to a 7D and whilst a lot of folk advise glass upgrades, I think it was the upgrade to the 7D that improved my photography the most. I especially like the ease with which you can change focus point, I like the mode dial customisation (E.g I...
My 7d is also arriving next week. Have watched 3 hours of tuition videos and read numerous books/guides for the 7d - lots to get to grips with compared to my old camera. My 450d died with the infamous er99 error - a stuck shutter. Enjoy your new camera mate!
This is what I am wondering too. Like you say: will I notice the quality difference? Most of my photos are viewed at a small resolution anyway on Flickr or Google + and not blown up large and printed.
The size aspect is certainly very appealing with the m43.
The other consideration is...
Many thanks for the replies guys. I will get a more accurate quote and take it from there. If it is going to be around £250, I think I might go the upgrade route to a used 40d and just hope that I don't have the same trouble again - but I am still very nervous as it is a lot of money for me...
I have come down with a case of Error 99.
My camera no longer boots. I have a case of a stuck shutter.
I have tried all of the usual tricks to fix it (using an eraser on the contact points of the body and lens, removing the battery and leaving it out for 20 mins, removing the memory card and...
70-200L lens. Been lusting after it forever. Also upgraded my fastpack 200 to a fastpack 350 as a gift to myself. My family are back in NZ so we buy ourselves a gift and save money on postage!
I am not sure how they feel on a 50d but I am very happy with my cheap one on my 450d. Wouldn't be without one now. So much easier to hold the camera now and the control buttons make shooting a lot easier.
For asthetics, you could always glue on some swarovski diamonds but not the pink ones as...
Pretty funny link to an article on Shutterfinger. Didnt know which Forum to post to as it is not really Off Topic.
What Your Choice of Camera Says About You
I like this one myself:

Youre the sort of person who would buy a $1500 DSLR body so your stash of thread-mount...
