Lakenheath Fen - Recommendation of areas to photograph birds please

Thank you for the responses, very helpful. I ended up going both Sunday/Monday just gone. Early get up on Sunday arriving at sunrise and two cars already in the carpark. Met a couple of photographers/birders who guided me around to where most of the action is happening. Ended up walking to the...

Lakenheath Fen - Recommendation of areas to photograph birds please

Hi all, I'm planning (weather permitting) a trip to RSPB Lakenheath Fen over the weekend and after recommendation on areas of Lakenheath Fen where I'm likely to get a good view of birds. In particular I'm after bearded tits and bittern which have been spotted there. After going to a couple...

    Nikon D850 - Owners Thread

They were SD cards. I picked up a couple of 32GB Lexar XQD cards but they're only 210mb/s. Went out today and hit the buffer again. If I get the 440mb/s read/write xqd cards hopefully that will help.

    Nikon D850 - Owners Thread

Thanks Jake. Not long ago I picked up 64Gb Extreme Pro sd cards for less than £30. Prices seem to have rocketed!

    Nikon D850 - Owners Thread

Trying to find 64gb XQD cards at a decent price is proving hard. I'm currently using Lexar XQD 210mb/s 32gb cards and have found when reeling off shots at 9fps the camera is playing catchup when writing. A couple of times I've not been able take any further shots until the buffer is cleared...

    Nikon D850 - Owners Thread

Hi all, I haven't seen a Nikon D850 thread, bar the "Development Post" but thought it is useful to create a Nikon D850 owners thread to include your thoughts, loves/hates, techy and images from the Nikon D850. I've had one for near on 8 weeks upgrading from a D810 and have to say after initial...

    Wex calumet

The thing I like about Wex is they're (were) independent and customer service is of a high standard. Don't get me wrong Calumet are also good so it's going to be interesting merger.

Why can't I make a decision on which Gimbal?

Thanks SK66. I've been leaning towards the GH2/GH3. I've ruled out wimberley due to the cost? I just can't justify it. All of my work so far with the 500F4 has been handheld but I'm off on a trip to Skomer and not sure my arms will take the brunt of my setup whilst on the island. Already picked...

Why can't I make a decision on which Gimbal?

Hi all, I'm finding it tricky to decide on which Gimbal to go for. For the first time when purchasing equipment I can't decide? I'm looking at purchasing one of the following: Benro GH2 Jobu Gimbal Deluxe Jr3 Sirrui PH20 Benro GH3 This will be used for a 500F4 on a Gitzo3542xls. Do any of...

    Tripod Recommendations for long primes

Thanks, I'm looking to pick something up before I head to Skomer in June. Had a look at both of these online. I honestly wasn't expecting these costs initially but understand now, you get what you pay. I'm after the most suitable for the equipment I have :) Will keep an eye out on the...
