    Lens choice for my 450D

Good advise! I am wondering about a longer lens myself to go with my tokina 12-24 for wide, and my canon 28-135 IS for walk around. But I thought the 55-250 would be a bit on the short side, as I would like to use my long lens for motorsport. How would a canon 70-300 or 75-300 compare? Or are...

Terrible problem with tokina 12-24 and Canon 28-135 :)

My Tokina 12-24 and canon 400D combination is making incredibly sharp images that I am really amazed with! Only had it a week but really excited by the results, which are very obviously sharp even on the camera's LCD screen when reviewing images. The problem is my Canon 28-135 IS just doesnt...

Tokina 12-24mm DX II v DX

I bought the Mk1 because it was on offer online new for £299 which I thought was a great offer. Reading a lot about this online people tended to say it was worth getting a Mk2 if you have a Nikon but for Canon you only get the improved coatings which people cant agree about universally...

    Tripod use - embarrasing??

i have a fairly steady hand and an IS lens as my walk around (canon 28-135) - so do i really need to use my tripod a lot? Obviously its not practical for shots when you are walking around town and quickly reacting to what is happening, but Ive got some good landscape shots without a tripod when...

    Tripod use - embarrasing??

thats the thing - i know a lot of people like joining photography clubs and the like, but I like taking photos as a personal thing so maybe i'll just have to be ready for people asking me daft questions every once in a while! I do enjoy getting feedback on how to improve my shots online though!

    Tripod use - embarrasing??

all good points :) and a topic that seems to split opinion somewhat - although the common consensus says get on with it! i feel more comfortable using the gorillapod funnily enough and its adequate for most situations I find but it does creep forward if you dont set it up exactly right

    Tripod use - embarrasing??

Hello everyone, Does anyone else feel embarrased when getting their tripod out in public - so to speak. I took some pictures last night, some long esposures of traffic and got a couple of poeple pipping their car horns at me. When I use my tripod generally it attracts some strange looks, or...
