Just received an email from Canon's CPN newsletter service - DPP V4 is now available. BUT it's only for the current range of FF models. So not even the 5D2 is catered for, nor the high-end cropper, the 7D. Along with all the hundreds of thousands of XXD and XXXD crop models, all not-current...

I've got three bodies, a 5d, 5d2, and a 7d - and have found dust, eventually, on all three's sensors. Annoying. The 5d classic wouldn't surrender its bits of grot to the only kit I had to clean things up, ad simple blower. Incidentally, said blower was fond of spitting out its delivery spout...

Here's a couple of bird shots. Took my 5d1 out with an ef300 f4l is usm just to see how it coped, found it coped just fine. Static and BIF shots. Usually use a 7d for this stuff but I was surprised how well the old camera performed. (Probably shouldn't have been?)...

Also have a G12, for about eight weeks in my case, and would be reluctant to accept your shop assistant's word on that IQ comparison, it's not going to be released till the new year's past (according to the entry for it on Amazon). Certainly my G12 can't match my old 40d for IQ in lower light...

My orders have always come through inside a week, and I've never found 7DS to be unreliable. I don't think they claim speed in delivery as part of what's on offer, but their prices are hard to ignore as a rule. Perhaps if you need things yesterday you could try asking for an uprated delivery...
