*sigh* Please read what I wrote - it says investigate.
Just because it's apache doesn't mean you're immediately into hardcore configuration. A default configuration would be good enough for web development, especially if installed as part of a pre-packaged suite such as XAMMP. One can safely...
Ian makes a good point - in fact you could set yourself up on Google or Wordpress.com with a blog and be away in no time. If, however, you want to build something yourself, then with respect to learning HTML, CSS etc, I don't think there are any shortcuts.
W3Schools was mentioned. This is an...
Each to their own I suppose Arkady, but I did wonder just how much of the kit you took was actually used. I say this having taken a car load of kit on holiday on many occasions - DSLRs, rangefinders, LF outfit etc and found that the majority of the kit was unused. In the end it depends...
I don't think it's a daft question and I'm sure it would be easy to implement - as others have suggested that's effectively what auto ISO does to a greater or lesser extent. Whilst it might be handy to fix the shutter speed/aperture to control both subject movement and depth of field, the...
I have one of these - it's a damned fine lens, though quite demanding to use.
I recently bought an 8x ND filter so I can use the lens at f1.1 in bright conditions. Last year I had problems with over exposure out of doors even with a 1/8000 top shutter speed!
If anyone's interested, there's...
Looks like you're pasting the whole lot in. No wonder it's throwing a bit of a wobbly...:(
Try typing in each line one at a time. The "$" denotes the shell prompt (for a unix/linux system).
Type in "mysql -u your user name -p"
Mysql will then display "Enter Password", so type in your...
Carl,
a couple of things spring to mind.
I presume you are able to logon to the sql server as root?
the command would be something like "mysql -u root -p"
Then you would be prompted for the root password.
Once you have done that do a "show databases;" which will list all of the databases...
FWIW, my advice would be to buy the best tripod you can once rather than something that may do the job now but end up needing to be replaced later on. Buying now may end up being a false economy.
I'm a huge fan of Manfrotto and Gitzo (very expensive) tripods. I currently have two manfrottos...
I have had a Sekonic L508 for about 10 years and it's a very good piece of kit.
Mine gets used when I do LF work as well as DSLR / digital rangefinder work.
They do take some of the guesswork out of using graduated filters though other's comments about using the histogram to check the exposure...
Yes, it would make an excellent second camera, or an 8th...:whistling:. Having just taken delivery of a GF1 and 20mm Pancake lens, I can vouch for just how good this combination is, so I'd advise you to have a look at the GF1 too.
Either way, I don't think you'll go wrong.
Have fun...
Fair point, but it depends on having access to the file. The beauty of Askimet is it's an add-on to Wordpress - just download and install and away you go.
Much more user friendly IMHO. Editing files like .htaccess is risky unless you know what you're doing.
Cheers
