I could have got my own estimate but it was written off before that stage.

I explained the damage and sent pictures expecting it to be sent away for assessment and they wrote it off without looking at it.

Do camera repair companies (fixation etc) share details with insurance companies? I was on a trip recently and my D810 blew over and the lens ripped itself from the body. The insurance company wrote it off saying beyond economical repair.

The fact people do stupid things with quadcopters does not make quadcopters dangerous/stupid, or all gun makers would be murders. If someone was to use a quadcopter with a gopro to look through a bedroom window it does not mean we have to ban quadcopters, he could have done the same with a brrom...
