    Shooting (properly) for YouTube

Hello. After a 7 year gap, I'm back! Anyway... I'm looking to shoot some YouTube videos. They are cooking based, in a professional kitchen. I can't/won't do cheap and nasty (using a phone to hosepipe around with horrible audio). I used to work as a broadcast cameraman. However I do need...

Thanks for the replies. She has, at this time, decided to hang fire on it. (She does outdoor sport photography. There was a link in the first post but I have removed that now). Thanks again.

Thanks. I know, the brief has changed totally. This is because to be honest we know very little about lighting. My wife currently works 99% outdoors without additional lights. Garry, thank you. Could you send me your number please? Thanks. Richard.

Thanks again for the replies. OK, what if we went for mains? How about these? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Studio-Softbox-Continuous-Lighting-Equipment-Kit-with-Black-Green-White-Backdrop-/140754293764?pt=UK_Photography_StudioEquipment_RL&hash=item20c59c1404...

Thanks for the reply. I should have said, we want to not use main power (as some locations will not have mains).

Hello all, Haven't been here for ages...... My wife shots mainly outdoors, working on field sports (and she writes too). She uses a MkIV and different L lenses. As such she has very little use for lighting. She does however have one canon flash (an old Canon 550 EX), a few stands...

Legal help please: trying to stop me taking photos.

Thanks for the replies. I really don't want to say what the sport is because, as someone said, it is a small world. I mentioned the pro kit because I think this is why the organisers have gone for me ~ there were others there taking photos (for who knows what use) using non-pro kit. I...

Legal help please: trying to stop me taking photos.

Hello all, Not been around for a while so, howdy! I have a legal question! I am a professional photographer, with pro kit (1D MK IV + L Lenses). I photograph a certain type of sport. My work includes commissions and I also attend events and place photographs of these events on my...

    Anyone, please?

    Which grads/ND filters please?

Thanks for the replies. I *think* we have settled on a 0.3 Grad and a 0.3 reverse Grad (we take a lot of sunrises and sunsets) from Singh Ray. I assume you can add these two together to get a 0.6? (albeit a 0.6 with 0.3 at the every top?) Plus a slide in filter holder.

1D MK IV fault, now working.......

Thanks. I think we will send it off to be safe (otherwise it will fail one week outside of warranty!)

1D MK IV fault, now working.......

We have a 8 month old 1D MKIV (bought new). It went on a shoot last week (with L lenses) where it was raining. Near the end of the shoot, the main display on the camera flickered then stopped working. At home, the camera was taken apart (battery out, lenses off etc) and left. A couple of...

    Which grads/ND filters please?

Thanks for the replies. OK, stupid question time: what kit do we actually need? I assume a filter holder (do I only need one, as all the lenses are the same size ~ 77mm) but how many Grads? I know you can spend, spend, spend but realistically how many/which filters should we get...

    Which grads/ND filters please?

Right, thanks! Any ideas on where I could buy any decent filters from though?

    Which grads/ND filters please?

My wife has a 1D MK IV, plus a number of L lenses. When taking landscapes she wants to use a grad/ND to take the sky down/foreground up. Any suggestions on what to buy please? PS: she is a get-it-right-in-the-camera type photographer rather than a muck-around-in-photoshop-afterwards...
