    Macro lens Fuji fit

I've just held a ruler against the front of the lens and edged it in until I could start to see it in the frame. It was fine until about 2.5cm, so I guess step down rings will be ok seeing as they're only a few mm and the Raynox would be my easiest entry point? That's if I'm using the 85mm...

    Macro lens Fuji fit

Ah - good spot, thank you! I didn't realise it was only .5x. I'll probably cross that one off the list then seeing as I'm looking for something at least 1:1 Could I use step down rings to make the Raynox work on my Viltrox lens? That'd only be one ring, so I'm assuming you wouldn't see the...

    Macro lens Fuji fit

Just thought I'd resurrect this rather than start a new thread...... I've been wanting to try macro for a while and am looking for a cheaper way of doing it with my XT3. Just from your replies above, I have a few questions and wouldn't mind your thoughts on the below choices..... Looking at...

    Possible upgrade advice needed!

Thanks for all the help and comments on this. Picked up a cheap 24mm STM and will see what that does to make the 7d a little more portable. Might grab the Olympus 40-150 f4-5.6 too. They go fairly cheap and then I can decide if I want to go down the route of expanding the MFT side of things.

    Possible upgrade advice needed!

It's a tricky one to figure out what to do with! Current thinking is I should pick up a the 24mm STM because a pancake lens would make the 7dmk2 a little more portable and lighter to chuck in a bag. Then maybe later I could pick up a R10 and use an adapter until I pick up some RF lenses.

    Possible upgrade advice needed!

Thanks for all of the help everyone, it's very much appreciated. Just to answer a few points so far....... I guess what I really want is a portable/lightweight setup that I can chuck in a backpack without noticing it too much. Ideally it'd be made up of a body with a decent AF system, an every...

    Possible upgrade advice needed!

Hello! I'd like some thoughts and advice on what to do with my camera gear as I feel I'm at a bit of a crossroads. I don't get the chance to go out shooting much nowadays and my photography has moved from bands/dogs/street shots to family stuff. When I was doing more photography for myself...

    Portable Lighting Help

Cheers Phil, thanks for the help. I think I'll have a go at trying to get my hands on a 200w kit for now and see how I get on. From what I've read about the technique you're bang on there too and it's underexposed a stop or 2 and then a bd.

    Portable Lighting Help

Cheers for the help Phil! So do you reckon 200w would be enough, or would I need more power? I know you need 600w to over power the sun, so if i was shooting into the sun (like the image on the far right) or had the sun in the shot then would I need the 600w?

    Portable Lighting Help

Hey hey, I was wondering if I could pick your brains and get an idea of the type of lighting equipment I'd need to achieve something like the below by Kaylee Greer? I know she uses a beauty dish and I was wondering what sort of power I'd need to achieve something similar? Would something...

    Home studio setup for pets

From the first page, 3 posts after anyone started to debate my intentions and my first post after...... I hate to be picky and don't want to seem ungrateful, I spend a lot of time reading this forum and not posting too much because I don't feel I know enough to contribute, your posts are often...
