I'm a little unsure which to go for:thinking: The camera is a D90, I've read the 1.8 is sharper but has more pronounced distortion than the F2. Primary use would be for indoor/low-light situations and as probably out on the street for candids, etc. Can anyone recommend one over the other?

I wasn't dismissing the lens, its definately a quality bit of kit and if I was sticking with Canon, I would have bought one. I meant you'd have to be mental to pay over a grand for it when you can shop around and get it a lot cheaper (under £800 at warehouse express).

You'd have to be mental to pay that much though.

The 17-55 isn't the kit lenses. It is probably the most expensive EF-S lens and light years away from the 18-55mm kit lens.

I've currently got a Canon 400D and EF 50mm 1.4 but I'll soon be replacing the Canon with a Nikon D90 and I'm unsure which lens to go for. Having never owned a Nikon before I know very little about their lenses so any help would be very appreciated. I definately want to stick with Nikon lenses...

First off, I'd just like to say hello:wave: Happy New Year I recently got a 70-200mm f4 L series lens for my 400d and soon I'd like to get a teleconverter/extender and see Canon do 2, the EF1.4x II and the EF2x II. Are these compatible with the 400d and the aforementioned lens? Thanks Jon
