    Returning as a hobbyist

After a break of 5/6 years since working as a portrait and wedding photographer, I’m picking the camera back up as a hobbyist. Luckily I kept an old body with a few lenses and some bits of lighting, but I did get rid of my pc that had lightroom and photoshop on it. As I’m only dipping in...

    Leaving dslr

I’ve owned a canon 6d for a few years now and shot over a hundred weddings plus various other stuff with it. As I no longer shoot weddings and only use it for personal I’d like to downscale to either a good compact or mirrorless that’s smaller and hS a near equal image quality if that’s...

    Re-sizing

After not using my camera for what seems like an age, I gave it a run out over the weekend. It’s that long since I’ve done anything I’ve forgotten how to prep for export from lightroom. How should the settings be set? Does it make a difference how they’re set if I’m exporting for a 6x4 or 30x20?

    Light modifyer recommendation

Really the original question should of been what is the smallest modifier that I can get away with using, I want to travel light and want them to be less intrusive. Also with the two lights set up I will have one as a key and one as a fill, but not to the extent that it will give strong shadows...

    Light modifyer recommendation

I disagree @Phil V . I need the lights to be out of the way so at the sides is the only position for them. I'm not talking about level with the subject but at around 45 degrees. If I only had one it would give too much shadow on one side for the look I'm going for. I have done this before I'm...

    Light modifyer recommendation

Thanks @juggler. Maybe I should of been more clear. The set up wont be like a photo booth just the results will. I will set up a background where guests can wear photo booth style props and have their photos taken. I plan on lighting with a light either side, nothing fancy, just even light.

    Light modifyer recommendation

In a few weeks I will be shooting some location portraits, something like a style that you'd see from a photo booth. I will be shooting against a plain coloured background in a hotel and plan on using 2 lencarta studio heads. I have umbrellas, softboxes etc but was wondering what would be the...

    Dslr or video camera

So I currently photograph weddings on a canon 6d, which I also use for making short personal videos of my kids taking part in sport etc. As I'm used to the wedding environment and enjoy working at weddings I thought I might try my hand at wedding videography, obviously not jump straight in but...

    Editing software

Thanks for the replies. I'm on windows. I'll look into the ones mentioned, how does premiere elements measure up with these? I know it's aimed at the consumer but wondered what the limitations were?
