    Sigma 35mm f1.4 ART

I'm really keen to get the Sigma 35 f1.4...debating the cost but it seems to have great reviews in comparison to the Canon f2. Anyone had problems with it front-focusing at all?

    Wedding Photography - equipment

I'm doing my second wedding this weekend, again for friends of mine which is what I did last year. Just trying to decide if it's worth hiring another 5DII for the day - last time I used both my 5D and my 550D, but ended up using the 550D more than I wanted for the crop and ease of not having to...

    Full frame after 550d

Looking to do the same myself and go for a second hand mk1 or mk2, but I don't really know which I would prefer. Might not be for a little bit that I can get it so have a bit of time to do some research, but hopefully there will be a few more bodies for sale now the mk3 has come out. I will get...

Thanks Jim, I hadn't really thought of it that way but I suppose it makes sense. I'll have a look around and see if there's something I could do a little further afield. And yes, will definitely sort insurance! Thanks for all the great advice, lots of useful things to think about. Jo

Yes, they are (well, it may be her parents in fact, not sure who is funding the wedding in general?)

Couple of shots from the photos we did yesterday in Richmond Park: Really enjoyed it, good to know they work well in front of a camera!

Thanks ShoeQueen, some excellent advice there! I don't think I'll able to visit the venue (as it's quite a long way away and being in a marquee, not there yet!), but I'm going down the day before so I should be able to do a reccy of sorts then. My boyfriend who is also a bit of an amateur...

Yes - absolutely, understood, just thought it sounded like I had no insurance in any sense... :)

That sounds bad actually - my stuff is covered by my home contents insurance, but it's not specific to photography and wouldn't cover me if I did anything professionally.

Good point! Location is south west london :) Equipment: Canon 550D, and boyfriend's 350D serves as a back up as he doesn't use it a lot. Hopefully upgrading to a 5Dmkii in the next couple of months, though I've not decided which lens to get with it. I have the kit lens, 60mm macro, 50mm 1.4...

Oh I should add that I'm taking some photos of the couple next weekend just to get to know them a bit better and see how they go in front of a camera :) Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/joannanicoleyates/

Would like to get some experience in Wedding photography

I'm looking to try and get some experience with weddings, and I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction to bag carry/assist/second shoot at some weddings... whatever I can get, really. I'm well aware that it's a lot of pressure and I'm hugely inexperienced, but I've...

Canon 5D mk II official owners/users thread, anything related to the 5D2

Yeah, I did think that I might be tempted to buy the MkIII, though I'm sure the MkII would be more than adequate for me - as you say, Yellowbelly! I just didn't want to spend £1500 on a MkII body if the price might drop a bit further in a couple of months, but I don't know, it's very difficult...
