The 50mm seems the sharper of the 2 as well as being F2 over F2.5.
On my old D750 my 50 was my most used lens period. Maybe I should just go with my heart and get a 50 again and not get sucked in to the 40mm middle ground argument!
It’s currently on offer on the Viltrox website and even...
Anyone shoot with a 40mm lens? Was looking at the Viltrox 50mm F2 but then noticed they do a 40mm F2.5. Both get decent reviews.
Basically just been using 70-200 for sports but looking for something nice and compact just for when I want to go out and about. Never been a big fan of 35mm but a...
Got sent the whole set of VSCO filters a while back so thought would have a look at them to get some different effects.
Where the hell do you start. So many of them it’s going to take an age! Anyone got any favourites?
Great day for us yesterday. Tiny bit of background, we purchased Winston and sadly he was injured in the field and became quite an unhappy soul. We were surrounded by some quite opinionated people saying we should cut our losses, sell, get rid etc, but that's not us at all! We never gave up and...
Anyone using or tried the Tamron 50-300 or 50-400? Both look appealing for what I want. The 400 seems to get some pretty decent reviews for such a long zoom.
Is the old 70-200 F4 still decent? I have sold my 70-200 2.8 as just need something smaller and lighter and rarely used it at 2.8 anyway.
On a budget so the F4 falls in to price range, but so does an import 70-180 Tamron G2.
Any other light zoom option to consider over those?
So another video question on the A9 and getting head around exposure.
I have set it to manual mode. 1/50 shutter to double frame 25 frame rate.
In auto iso I can adjust exposure. In manual iso I can’t adjust exposure.
So just wondering what’s the best way to get exposure correct. Auto iso...
Tried 2 copies of the 35mm Samyang 2.8 and both were pretty whiney when focussing.
Is this a Samyang thing or just apparent in this lens. I have found some posts online of people complaining about the noise but nothing about their other lenses such as the 1.8 version.
Got a Samyang 35mm 2.8 coming today as just wanted something tiny and light to tide me by.
I know some of them are not always perfect. What is the best way to check for focus and de-centering issues etc?
Bare bones at the moment. A9 + 70-200 2.8 mk1 plus 3 batteries! I was going to shell out on some primes for the A9 and try some more video but we have had some other financial stuff that has taken priority.
I might just hold for a bit, by a cheap as chips prime and see how things settle...
