thanks for the replies
for the people that would choose a different camera - which ones have similar features and a comparable lens (quality and reach) for £1k
In terms of the price of the A77 I cannot find it anywhere for less than £999 and the one I'm looking at is a UK one that somebody won...
I did think about waiting for the new one but then I guess with a similar lens it is going to be £1400+.....an A77 would be fine for me - I can look a new body in 2-3 years time.
I did think about a Canon or Nikon but I do really like the EVF and fast shutter. I'm not going to be printing out...
I currently have a Sony A57 and recently got the 18-135 lens for it - I like the camera.....the other day a friend of mine used it for a day as he has been thinking of getting a modern (d)SLR and afterwards he said if I'm ever thinking of selling to let him know.
So this got me looking at...
TBH - it is not massively out....I just noticed that I was able to get better results using my manual focus than the AF.....but that is probably to be expected???
It is not like it is completely blurry
Hi,
I going to give it a good test tomorrow but I have a question
I have just got a new Sony 18-135 lens as my first upgrade lens. With my simple testing in my house I noticed I was able to get a sharper pic using manual over AF. I'm not expert but it was quite noticeable when zoomed in...
They really have jumped in price haven't they??
I already have and old m42 50mm lens and are actually quite like it......I took this the other day and for a £5 lens and no ability I like this pic....the fly just happened to get in the way!!
sounds like a plan Applemint....I'm finding the 17-50 for around £200 used and the 55-200 is a good buy at £99
the nagging question in my head is does the 17-50 offer better IQ over the Sony 18-135 in the 18-50 range???
not sure I have a requirement to go to 300mm....but that 17-50 looks interesting. I must say I'm really enjoying the manual nature of the old primes I have and I will probably find myself using manual focus whatever I end up with. Are modern lenses all auto with regards aperture?
Hello there - I have a Sony Alpha that I have been using with the kit lens (18-55) and a Minolta 80-200 xi Zoom....I have recently been looking into using it more a getting more out of it. From all accounts my lenses are pants and I bought a couple of cheap prime lenses (Helios 44m and a Exida...
have had a Sony A57 for a few months and not really had time to use it other than standard family shots using the auto modes.....starting reading some articles recently and I'm now reading as much as I can (still quite confused)....I only have the kit 18-55 lens and from what I have heard it is...
