Thanks for the advice given, just ordered the Manfrotto 055CX03PRO with the 410 geared head, hopefully get to use it next week

Using a Pentax K10D currently with an 18-55 lens, and a Sigma 75-300 f4, interested in getting a 10-20 lens as well. Started off with a Pentax K1000 and then moved on to a Program A which I still have gathering dust in its box.

Thanks Chris, centrally located for some of the best landscapes in the country, plus the advantage of great lighting when it doesn't rain :)

Thanks for all the various recommendations, should have mentioned my budget was round about £200, will check out details of the tripods mentioned

Currently using a Cullman tripod I bought over 20 years ago, now in the position to upgrade, looking at a Manfrotto as the one to go for, whats the best type to go for in your opinion ?

Just returned to photography, was old school honed my skills on print film, so looking to use the experience here to develop my digital knowledge, will put up some of my work for your comments.
