Well to be fair, the lens cap bent right in and buckled shattering the filter. I dread to think what would have happened without it!

I bought it second hand and it'll probably last me, although selling it on is the only way I could ever go up to a MkII. How much would this knock off the resale value?

Hi guys, I dropped my Canon 70-200 F2.8 lens tthe other day while in my bag from a low height but it must have landed on the edge as it shattered the protective filter and wedged the lens cap on. I've managed to get it off the lens thanks to a local shop but it's damaged the actual lens...

I had one of these in my basket but had to let it go as I couldn't get wife approval! They knocked 6% off, which was disappointing as they knocked 10% off a similarly priced lens earlier. With 10% off plus the cashback it would have been under the magic £800 price and I would have snapped it...

Nothing is ever straightforward lol. I don't think I'm too concerned about the weight, I'll be carrying it around in a Vertex 200 while not in use and won't be shooting non stop for hours. Then again, the Vertex is starting to get heavy as it is and I'm not getting any younger ;-)
