Just moved over from Nikon/Canon, this is pretty much my first shot with my new A7RIII and 85 f/1.4 GM ... I've no more client shoots this year so the cat and his love of Christmas tinsel had to suffice ...
The horizon isn't level, its underexposed and grainy, it needs cropping (at least 2" off the top), the couple are poorly posed and the person on the right is distracting ... but apart from that ...
70-200 is just about the stock lens in any rally photographers arsenal ... IS or not is up to you, but most people find they get better results by switching it off (me included).
It wasnt Dhrontal we went to Ant, it was Moselland :)
The vineyards stages are all superb ... Moselland, Moselwein and Dhrontal are all classic stages. The rally usually uses the vineyards on the Friday and SUnday and Saturday is generally held around the Baumholder military base...
Most motorsport photographers switch IS/OS/VR (or whatever you wish to call it) off ... the only time I turn it on is when taking ambient light shots around a service area.
Cheers Andy
Thanks for the help, I'm looking at the newer model of the bag ... just measured the setup and it's pretty much dead on 60cm. Should be a nice snug fit :)
Looking for a bit of advise from those in the know ...
Does a Nikon 400 f/2.8 with hood extended and a body attached fit in this bag?
I dont want to have to reverse the hood each time I put it away.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers
Jay
Cheers Charlie.
Just to reiterate Charlies comment, I use a pair of 5DMKII's for motorsport. I also have a 1D MKIII which since the purchase of the 5D's is resigned to a doorstop.
