    Daily MWHCVT(Matt's) Challenge 366 - 2012 - Now with added 5D3 Goodness

I love the Antonov. It's one of my favourite planes and I hope I get to see one for real one day. They are huge. Don't tell me, you were using your fish eye lens from half a mile away and could still only just fit it into the frame lol Jason

    Daily MWHCVT(Matt's) Challenge 366 - 2012 - Now with added 5D3 Goodness

I didn't realise that Matt had the OS version of the Sigma, although with a "slow" lens even with OS you can still find you are struggling for light and also struggling to get a shutter speed fast enough to hand hold. That's why the long prime lenses are the holy grail and so expensive I...

    Daily MWHCVT(Matt's) Challenge 366 - 2012 - Now with added 5D3 Goodness

I agree with Jay on this one. I think you will get better results with your Sigma on the 450D as you won't have to crop anywhere near as much as you do with your FF body. Jason

    Daily MWHCVT(Matt's) Challenge 366 - 2012 - Now with added 5D3 Goodness

Hi Matt, I had a look at the video and personally I don't think it is very good. I think that your standards are slipping if you are quite pleased with it. There is inconsistently with the audio, for example it just drops out when you do the "fast forward" bit at the start. There is a...

    Short Eared Owls at ?????

There are very clear boundaries and the only people that should be in that field are the landowners. Sensible and intelligent is used to define toggers who observe limits and boundaries and have an understanding of the welfare of the subject matter. This is THE most important part, certainly...

    Short Eared Owls at ?????

Frank, I think you might be taking this too literally. If you happen to have some SEO's at the end of your garden, then no one is expecting you to change your lifestyle to that extreme. The issue is people going out of their way to wilfully disturb the birds for the sake of a photograph. As I...

    Short Eared Owls at ?????

Hi All, I might be flamed for this post but I thought it worthwhile for many reasons. I have noticed that several TP members have been revealing the location of their shots of SEO's in not just the thread itself, but within the thread title. I can't help thinking that this is not the best...

How to put a perch in for shorties....!!

I'm not sure research is required on any species. Surely it's common sense in that you leave any animal or bird to get on with it's natural life and you keep your distance. People are so stupid and selfish. Jason

How to put a perch in for shorties....!!

My first thought is, get out of the flaming field. These idiots spoil it for everyone else, walking into the middle of it to get a shot, scaring the birds of and generally making a nuisance of themselves. My second thought is that's hilarious. Jason

    Nikon or Canon

I had the same dilemma, best friend has a 60D, a pro photographer friend has a 5DII and I went for a D7000 and I am so pleased with it. The high ISO performance is much better than the 60D, twin memory cards is nice, beautiful build quality, 39 point AF and full Colur RGB metering, the Canon...

    Photography in a public place

The security guards are indeed complete tools. It's amazing what some people think they can do, especially claiming its against the law. It really beggars belief, ignorance is rife through society though. Jason

    Veyron v McLaren F1

The McLaren every time, by a mile. The perfect car. The F1 is one of the most beautiful cars ever designed, the Veyron on the other hand is a technical tour de force but it's been battered to death with the ugly stick. Also, how long did it take Volkswagen to sort this out, it was so many...
