Been using various Sandisk cards from the ultra range. I'm with you on not having large capacity cards of more than 8Gb. www.mymemory.co.uk had some good value Sandisk CF cards last night at £20 and upwards depending on how much speed you need to transfer 8Gb so I will be ordering another one...
