Soon to be an owner of a D7000 too, opting to buy body only, going to get a 35mm f1.8g. Chosen that lens as its a light, fast combo capable of shooting crisp images that i can carry around with me everyday. Who needs a zoom, just walk backwards or forwards!

Yes i realise that, starting to sway more for the D7000 as i feel it may be a better investment in the long term. The d3100 would be a perfect beginner camera but the better functionality of the d7000, build quality, inbody motor is starting to appeal a lot more than the d3100.

Looking to buy my first DSLR soon and wondered if i held on till after xmas in the boxing day sales do you think i could pick one up any cheaper than there at now. Looking at either a Nikon D3100/D7000, can anyone recall Jessops reducing prices on DSLR's last year in the sales? Thanks
