Looks like cloud clearing for much the country. I took 200 images of 15sec on Friday over 1h 40m and I think one of the streaks was from the right direction. The other 6 probably satellites as some continued onto subsequent image. Just terrible light pollution in Bristol. Good luck
PS there are also other active showers like k-Cygnids which will come from roughly overhead through Pegasus and Capricornids which appear to come from near the horizon. You have to track the path back to see which shower .. and also hope you don't catch a plane or satellite as well! Good luck
The direction where the meteors come from (constellation Perseus) obviously changes as the night moves on. Rises NE below the 'W' of Cassiopeia when the sky darkens 10pm and much later in the night (pre-dawn) wil be high in the E.
However any meteors seen in Perseus will be seen almost head-on...
Just started looking for an off-camera flash cord but the 5 pins and extra locating(?) pin seem to be unusual so I think the Nissin universal hot shoe connector won't work. Anyone managed to link up a flash to NX10?
I've been very happy with my Samsung NX10. There is an updated version (NX11) and I think models NX20/100/200. Does everything I want but I suspect didn't take off in competition with Canon/Nikon.
If you haven't heard there are updates for the NX10:
Improvement for firmware (version of 1.30)
● Add panorama function inside the Scene mode.
● Compatible with 18-55(II), 50-200(II) 18-200 mm i-function lens (Add OIS menu)
● Improved Movie clip algorithm, AF function...
Yes circular polariser reduces the glare in the sky so the blues deepen (on sunny days!) and contrast increases (so the clouds stand out more).
Maximum effect is at 90deg from the sun, so stand with the sun shining onto the side of your head. I haven't tried at sunrise/sunset when the light is...
The pic of Fujifilm X100 looks like a camera with a pancake lens? What marks this out compared with other manufacturers? Especially at the £899 price I just found on Amazon.
I'm really happy with my Samsung NX10 with prime lens, though usually use the 18-50mm zoom.
Yes mine was 'ex-display' but still boxed, bargain at that price level and a really fab lens.
The upgrade will be converting it to Samsung's 'i-lens' with functions on the lens for exposure, aperture etc.
