Was your choice the right one?

Thanks. I've had a quick look round and that was top of the list – a few hundred seems to buy you a good one. Having said that, I also have and A7iii in mind because, y'know, GAS!

    WAMT....what annoyed me today!

I went to the bank to get cash for staff Xmas bonuses – I know it's easier to do it digitally but it's fun handing people folding stuff! This was one of those weird banks which consist of some machines, some (generally empty) desks and a bored meber of staff wandering about. I told her I...

Good advice I'm sure although I do hanker for something with a full size sensor having switched from film originally.

Was your choice the right one?

It's an interesting question and the obvious 'issue' is that people often don't settle and/or are always chasing the next thing. Personally I'm wondering whether having rediscovered the joys of photography I should be buying a 'better' DSLR than my D90 in order to keep using the lenses I have...

    Rankin Live

I agree. Also for £500 I'd hope to get at least a few of the files – not just one 8x10, an Insta jpeg and some 'reference PDFs' to help me buy more prints! Martin Parr does these sometimes (in Bristol usually) and if I was going to spend the money then I think I'd get a much more interesting...

The piece of non photographic equipment you can't do without for your photos.

Travel umbrella. I know it takes up a hand but it can be easier than puting everything away in a quick shower.

    keeping camera/camcorder steady while walking

Sorry, looking again I'm being thick. The side handles only work with phones or go-pro on this one. However, side handles were – for me – really helpful.

Beginner print at home or use a print company...some help with a Canon Printer

Thanks. Will give it a go. I have a bandsaw (and a lathe, not that it would be much use) but assume you need some specialist tools to cut the rebate for tha glass and clamp things square.

I love the idea of making frames. Do you have any recommendations for sites, books or whatever to help me get started?

Not sure how big your camcorder is but this works great for me holding it with the two side handles. It comes apart so would easily fit in a bag. https://amzn.eu/d/aoVIwoq

    Sony RX 100 Mk7

You'd have thought that they'd make them easily replacable if the design dicates that they need to be so lightweight.

    Buying Z8, import

Thanks for the info folks – very helpful. I'm hoping I can snag a decent A7iii secondhand but at the moment MPB and WEX seem to be the same price as a new one on Panamoz!

    Getting Older?

I think the level of celebrity has definitely been on the slide since day one - it’s not just you! Having said that, there’s no denying Nigel’s fame/notoriety!

    Buying Z8, import

Sorry to take the thread on a slight tangent but I was wondering… Panamoz offer a 3 year warranty which looks great but is this via UK ‘official’ repair centres or is it a return to HK thing?
