    Sideline wedding photography

Really love my 70-200 f4, completely changed my opinion of what my camera could do. Mine is mainly used for agricultural machinery photos, so doesn't get used inside to often. When I do use it inside, I do wish it was F2.8, however it was half the cost of the 2.8, and it feels about half the...

    Sideline wedding photography

Not looked at this thread for a while, thanks very much for the replies, especially Pete for taking some time :) I have obtained since the thread started, a 135mm F2L (on a crop!), so I'll be stood somewhere well out of the way, probably down the road! My cousin has intentions of making me...

    Canon 70-200 F4 (non-is) vs Tamron 70-300 VC

Had the 70-200 F4L for a couple of years and it completely changed my opinions of what a lens can do! Before that I'd only had use of kit lenses and 50mm f1.8, so the colours and image quality blew me away. Toyed with replacing it with the newer 70-300 L recently, but decided to keep my money as...

    Walkabout lens for 7D

I use a 17-40 f4L most of the time on my 7D and to be honest it feels like plenty of range. I chose this lens for two reasons, firstly it's build quality is excellent it feels tough as hell and can take a few knocks, the second was I couldn't afford a 17-55. Happy with what I've got, but I...

    Canon EOS 7D Owners Thread

I went from a 400d to the 7d and did feel slightly overfaced when i first got my hands on it, so many focus options that I did end up with plenty of OOF shots to begin with. Nowadays I use it mainly on spot AF (both for One Shot and AI Servo), with the joystick adjusting the focus point as I go...

    What's your fabourite lens?

My favourite is my 17-40 on the 7d. Read before I got it that it's wasted on a crop body, but the sharpness, contrast and colours always please me. The other reason I love it is it's robustness, I never worry about it, regardless of where I am and I think that adds a fair bit to any day out with...

    Sideline wedding photography

Thank for the replies! Last thing I want to do is ruin the pro's photos, my cousin would never forgive me. Looking at renting/borrowing a long prime now so I can stay well out of the way, out of sight, out of mind (out of shot). Thanks, Joe

Thanks for that Tom, good point about lugging stuff about, I may have a car nearby so could swap lenses occasionally rather than having to carry all my gear. Of course chances are I'll stay by the bar :D

    Sideline wedding photography

Afternoon all, Before I start, don't worry I'm not about to embark on a new business venture :) My cousin is getting married in september and I intend to take my camera along, with the idea of getting a few different shots that I can compile for her afterwards. I have a few queries and any...

    Upgrading from Canon 400D

I went 400d to 7d a couple of months back, however before the I upgraded the body, I invested in some better lenses (as is always recommended on here). If you can put up with the ISO issue, invest in glass, and you will see a whole new light from the 400d. Then when you do upgrade the body to 7d...

    550d or 7D

Cannot comment on the 550d, but I went from a 400d to a 7d and was so impressed. The auto focus/metering etc was miles better straight out the box, and as I've got to grips with it I love it even more! Not had any noticable ISO issues thankfully and 800 ISO plus is night and day better...
