    Home turf vs. exotic locations

I really enjoy rolling countryside images like that. Even those would beat the flat fields I have close to home..

    Home turf vs. exotic locations

I don't have the luxury of national parks, the coast, or even really any hills where I live. Mostly flat countryside around here. Avebury is very close, but I'm bored to tears of it having shot it countless times over the years. It's always fantastic being able to visit exotic places. Be it...

    Just Curious?

I normally take some photography gear. Depends on the holiday as to what I take. When I went to Yosemite I took everything I would normally use. If I'm going on a city break then it's a travel tripod and one lens usually. Hong Kong I shot everything handheld with a prime lens as I knew I...

    Winter Landscapes

Meh, safer than any other form of transport. What's life without a little risk? Sit down, have a whiskey and go to sleep.

    Winter Landscapes

Put your fears aside and get on a plane, what's the worse that can happen? (don't answer that). You'd be able to photograph the world within a few hours.

    Winter Landscapes

Most people seem to get so excited by snow they forget what actually makes a good image. I work out places local to me that I know will work when it's snowy. Then it's just a case of shooting it if and when the snow arrives. This year was hard as it was that weird blowy snow.

    Winter Landscapes

I'd say September - November I'm at my most active. This autumn has been great so far with frost. Although this time last year I was shooting peak autumn colour and frost, but this year it's now raining as the trees are stunning

    Winter Landscapes

I'm the opposite, I tend to hibernate in the summer. Everything is green, the days are very long, it's hazy quite often and the sun is bright so quickly in the mornings you quickly find it too much. That's why I started shooting the odd bit of street this summer I think, just to keep me ticking...

    Winter Landscapes

If you get it, it is. Lower sun tends to give you some nicer light that lasts longer. Winter can be hard, it's a good time to focus on coastal work, evergreen woodland is always available. Depends what you have near you I guess. If you're near mountains, they can always look good. You've also...

    South-West England Stonehenge

You can pay to visit on certain days at sunrise, but obviously you can't pick by using the conditions as you need to book a place.

    Morocco and Marrakech

You can camp in berber tents and things. Looks cool. I'm hopefully going in 2018.

    Morocco and Marrakech

Have a google of Marrakech Sahara tours. Loads of companies going out that way every day to take people to the dunes.

    Well that's happy days then!

Non UK Krakow, Sofia, Budapest or Prague

Bit late to the party I know, but might help with your future plans, I've been to Prague and Sofia. Going to Budapest in Feb. Prague is stunning. Really good city for photography day or night. Busy though. Sofia is cool, not sure it's as good for photography as most other places on this list...
