    Can I put Lowepro bags in the washing machine?

    I wouldn't. Just me. I've had Lowepro tags come off where the stitching became compromised. And that was without washing it.

    what flash if any

    You need a flash when you can't adjust your ISO high enough to get the desired results or if you just like the effect from a lighting standpoint that a flash provides.
