This may sound rather petty but I find it really annoying when working in manual that you have set your exposure correctly, working at 17mm at f/2.8 and at some point change the focal length and then have to change you exposure settings again cos it won't stay at f/2.8..... Hi all, I may be in a position to upgrade my camera body around xmas time, as long as the fund raising goes to plan, and I was just wondering that given the choice of these new A500/550's or trying to find a new A700, or indeed good second hand one, which would you go for? Thanks

I suppose I was a little embarresed/nervous about using a tripod in busy public places to start with but I'm kinda ok with it now. At the end of the day if the shot you want means you have to use a tripod then so be it. I'll be whipping mine out tonight in London and I won't give to hoots about...

Hi all, Noticed lately quite a few people snapping up A700's at pretty decent prices. Is this because it's not going to be made any more or replaced. The reason I ask is that I quite fancied upgrading to it from the A350 but I wouldn't be able to do it till xmas and I just had this horrid...

In my opinion as the sky is not really the main feature of the shot so I'd lose a bit of the sky so the horizon is a little higher in the frame. This is just my personal taste of course, it's just I'm not a fan of horizons in the middle unless it can't be helped.

Img 5's horizon would be better if it was not slap bang in the centre of the shot and img 7 has a slightly wonky horizon but apart from that I can see very little wrong with any of your shots. The compositional side of things will be picked up with time and experience. The lack of sharpness...
