    How is it done?

This guy does the most amazing car photography (http://www.flickr.com/photos/62128649@N08/), although I suspect that much of it is done in post processing. Any ideas how he achieves it? I'm assuming perhaps a location shot and a 'studio' shot put together very skillfully.

Perhaps I'll suggest a romantic break in Wales to the missus

    Min shutter speed

You can also up the ISO if you're struggling to get a quick enough shutter speed, but this will adversly affect the picture quality. It's all a bit of a balancing act really.

Great advice Peter... hoping to get there myself one day but I'm on the wrong side of the country.

    Nikon D3 or D700

Thanks all. I must admit I was hoping to get a concensus of opinion which would make my decision that much easier. From the comments made I shouldn't be disappointed with either. The D800 is also an option with the crop mode but I can't really justify the expense. I do like the idea of the...

    Nikon D3 or D700

I'm considering upgrading from my Nikon D300 to either a second hand D3 (£1500ish) or D700 (£1100ish). Much of my photography is aviation based and I find that I suffer with poor image quality and lots of noise in grey overcast conditions. I would appreciate any thoughts on the above. I know...

    Air Show Lenses 2

I'm currently shooting airshows using a Nikon D300, Sigma 120-300 f2.8 and 1.4x t/c but, depending upon future finances, may look to upgrade to a second hand D700 or D3. I'll also be looking to get extra reach, particularly as I'll be going from a cropped sensor to full frame, and therefore am...

How many shots do you take at events?

I shoot mainly airshows and take around 1500 shots per day. This is my first serious airshow season and, once I have reviewed and processed the images, I'm hoping to reduce this number in the future by being a little more selective and picking my shots.

    Air Show Lenses

I started shooting airshows using a 200mm lens with 1.4x teleconverter with reasonable results (cropped sensor), although from reading other forums I understand that the flying at seaside airshows tends to be further away from the crowd. I now use a 300mm and 1.4x t/c but would still prefer...

    RIAT 2011

Nice set of photos.... I hadn't really thought of b&w conversions for modern aircraft before but they look good.
