Home dev help (old used film)

In the end I used FD10 as thats all I had. I diluted to 1-14 for 12 mins. The frames that came out did so well, but if you see another post, only three frames were developed but thats more likely camera error.

Only first few frames are developed!!

The only other thing I can think of is that I rewound the film mid-roll to change it. I did used to do that sometimes. Ok I am willing to accept that it could be that or the camera at fault but before I develop another roll can I definitely rule out something wrong with the Patterson tank?

Only first few frames are developed!!

Yes all the edge markings have come out. Strange that it could be the camera as I have never had problems with it before. It was a Canon 50e. Any other possibilities?

Only first few frames are developed!!

Hi guys, I have just developed a couple of 35mm rolls and the same problem has happened on both.....Only the first three frames on one roll and first five on second roll has been developed. The rest has come out clear. They were done separately, not in the tank at the same time? Done using...

Home dev help (old used film)

Hello guys. I have developed a couple of rolls of film myself but am still a newbie. I have recently found a old roll of agfapan 400 that has been used but I never got around to developing it. It could be upto 20 years old. The question is, when I come to developing such an old film, how...

    Beginner Canon 400d

I have been looking at getting a 400d also but my finger hasnt slipped yet! I am also on a tight budget. Let us know how you get on with it. I am going to get body only and invest in a decent lens. I dont know what lens came with yours, but if it was a kit lens, I would say try and stretch to...

Best lens for sports on 7Dii

I also think the 7D ii / 70-200 2.8 would be a good combo for sport. That is if you will be doing sport on a regular basis. If not, then stick with what you have. 6fps is more than enough. Get your timing right and it will be plenty.

    Just two questions....

Hi, I used to be a full-time pro back in the day (quit 2008). I would say it is very hard to make it pay. Just think about the cost of gear. Ok the lenses could last a lifetime, but the cameras... 2 x bodies at 5K a pop, after a few years they are out-dated, and when you are competing with other...

Help me select a camera for street photography

Have a look at the Sony A600 and Fuji X70. The Fuji would be my choice. I like the handling and looks of it.

    Identifying Footballers for captioning?

At the lower leagues, I would sometimes review the shots on back of camera and any good shots without visible numbers I would then take a few moments during quieter times to id the players and just note down their numbers on a notepad.

    ideal lenses for football

When I started out at footie I used the Sigma 120-300 2.8. I think its a good choice. The 300 end is handy. You may find the 70-200 a little short, but whatever you choose I would say get a 2.8. In the lower leagues you will need to capture as much light as possible in those winter months.

    Back in the game..Hello all

Hi from sunny Basingstoke. Long story short..I used to be a full-time tog, and because of various reasons I fell out of love with photography and sold all my gear. This was 2008. I have recently got back into it again. So I have joined up to get advise and tips as so much has changed gear wise...
