Which version of OSX is running on your server?

Not sure what version of OSX that’s running but I assume it no longer gets security updates? If it doesn’t, there’s no way I’d have my data reliant on that and certainly not connected to the internet.

With that solution, your computer needs to always be on. With a nas, you just don’t have to worry and it just works.

This. I’ve had every Surface Pro since version 4. Brilliant devices and the latest ones with ARM processors are amazing.

I edit on my Mac or Surface, move the RAWs to a multi bay QNap (NAS) and then backup to the cloud with Amazon Photos. Whatever you do, I would not buy a single hard drive. Having a multi hard drive solution like a QNap offers protection if a drive fails, and you can always expand the space...

Those were brief outages that would have meant your data was unavailable for a few hours. That’s it.

To be fair, I think you have one of greatest cameras ever made in the D850. Think that is my favourite camera, even more than my Z series bodies.

Not sure how you are getting to £10k with those 3 lenses. When I switched in late 2021, I sold off all my F mounts. Prices were good then so the cost to swap was not that great. I never did direct comparisons between the lenses but certainly the AF seems better on the 24-70 and 70-200. AF...
