Thanks for the advice guys. I'll keep my eyes peeled for a bargain after xmas! I think i'll looks for something slightly newer than a 350D just so I have something different to try out, or maybe a 20 or 30D. Cheers.

I just got a minolta x300 from ebay in the end. 13 quid so nice and cheap! fingers crossed it works.

Thanks guys, some great info here. I had a look around on ebay and some of these cameras still fetch high prices. Some of the Nikon cameras are going for more than I just sold my 350D for. Obviously still plenty of people enjoy using them! I think i'll end up buying any one of these cameras...

To get the pictures/stories they must often be in just as dangerous places as many of those fighting on the front line. It's easy to forget where all the pictures that keep us informed come from sometimes.

I really like the effect of this lens. Is the curving effect called "dipping"? I can see that this might not always be what you want from a wider lens though.
