Laminate is fine, however you need to make sure you get one suitable for bathrooms (usually needs to be stuck with glue/sealant). Also you need to either take off the skirtings to fit it and/or get beadings to finish round the edge.

Agree with Mr G. We have linoleum in the bathroom and en suite, stone tile effect in the bathroom and wood effect in the en suite and I think it looks great, to get tiles or laminate that looks as good you'd be spending an awful lot more (££ and time involved!).
