For me the one with the back wheels in the air screams "STOP!" far more than the smoking tyres which is more 'STOPPED'
Rightly or wrongly I am seeing it as the driver jamming the brakes on so hard that the back of the car lifts up.
Well done on getting the car with it's back wheels so far off...
I like that a lot, the colours work well together and the really nice thing is that the dof is consistent across all 3 elements with the blur to the front and the back. Excellent shot, one of the best on this week's theme I would say.
WEEK 19: INGREDIENTS
Wanted to do something with my speedlites this week. Came across a bottle of shampoo with all sorts of chemically ingredients and started trying to light it as a clean product shot to show the ingredients, which was very dull. Added the flowers to show what the producers...
Agree with the comments that it works well for the theme and that the colours are really nice and rich.
Just wonder if the lighting is maybe too straight on. The only shadow is just sticking out slightly from the head on the right. If the light was at more of an angle then the reflection would...
Indulgence - choccies nicely lit, with nice blurred background and the vignette works.
Close - for me the DOF is right and the composition works, but the light is just a bit harsh. Looks like sunlight or flash. I find that the colours on flowers are better in overcast or wet conditions (water...
I zoomed all the way in to see the big picture and the detail, sharpness and colours are all fantastic.
Having zoomed right in so that the picture was bigger than my laptop screen I found that I preferred a tight crop with the bright colours and textures filling the frame, however that is...
The Cranefly is the winner for me - just looks so other worldly.
Like something off Dr Who meets War of the Worlds.
You seem to have a knack with the insects, I like the spider shot very much.
I like the angle/perspeective you have gone for on this.
It is such a shiny subject you would have to work pretty hard to get rid off reflections, but it would be a good test/challenge to see if you could.
The reflections themsleves bother me less than what seems to be 2 different light...
Thank you for the nice comments. I have steered clear of B&W and very rarely attempt it -to do B&W properly is a specialist subject and skill in it's own right. Not sure why, but I just wanted to see what it looked like in B&W, and it is encouraging that others like it, although i have to say I...
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment.
I think you are probably right about the composition and softness.
I have a tendency to crop everything very tight, so deliberately gave it more negative space but I think that may be a mistake. Any suggestions on a better crop very welcome.
I...
Week 16 Stare
Playing a bit of a joker here in an effort to catch up.
The shot was taken earlier this year when the snow was just starting to melt, not taken for this project but was based on the poor old snowman 'staring' at his eyes and nose with his empty eye sockets. While I was trying...
