    Working with a "model"

A couple of people I know (friends of friends) have seen some of my work and have agreed to do a couple of shoots with me for a bit of fun. I want to experiment with some new styles and some new gear. This is where I am getting a little stuck, I am a bloke and I know diddly squat about female...

Running studio Lights off an inverter

I suggest you do a search... there seems to be a lot of information out there.... A lot of people would recomend using a pure SIN inverter.... although a general purpose one would proberably do the job just fine.... Maplins do a nice pure SIN 400W inverter for about £80.... add to that the...

    White Background nightmare

Have a read of this... there are 7 artitcles detailing everything you need to know! http://www.zarias.com/?p=71 I have just been doing some white backdrop shooting... using two 200W flash heads on the backdrop with barn doors to control it.. And then a single flash up front with a brolly and...

    Background width for full shots

I found 2m just too narrow for anything other than standing poses or portrates... 3m gives you a LOT more versatility in terms of poses etc... I also found it easier to control the light on a larger drop... maybe its just me and my lack of skill

    Portaflash 336VM Sync cable adapter?

Assuming you have enough space to fit the adapter in... yes... it would work... I had a similar problem myself.... so I bought the components from Rapid Electronics and made up my own sync cables.... even made a splitter box so I can have up to 6 lights firing fron one trigger :)

    Flash triggers and disco lighting?

Yup... good idea.... Am trying to find some more recievers to work with my trigger... I cant stop the flash heads triggering them selves through the slave sensor though.... GRRR!!!

    studio backgrounds

That is going to depend on what lighting you have, how hard wearing you want it to be.... loads of factors.... If I was setting up a large perminant studio I would be tempted to use vinyl painted matt black... But for portable stuff I use a cotton cloth...

    Flash triggers and disco lighting?

I have agreed to do a couple of "mobile studio" events this summer at summer balls.... I just spoke to one of the places where the first function is taking place.... They have a space 10x20m wide for me to use, only problem is... It is actually part of the main dining room/disco area...
